RSS or Really Simple Syndication as it is almost never known is one of those technologies that, once you start using it, you can't imagine how you lived without it all this time.
For those of you unfamiliar with RSS, what happens is that Superhighwaymen would automatically create an RSS Feed from content on your website. Visitors to your website can then sign up to the feed using a feed reader which will automatically check your website at regular intervals to see if it has been updated.
If it has been updated then it lets the subscriber know immediately. This can be incredibly useful because it means that as a subscriber you don't have to revist websites unless they are updated and as a content provider you don't have to do anything except publish the content because we automate the RSS Feed update as part of our wonderful Content Management System.
